About
Oh hello. I’m Pete Carr. I’m non-binary. I’m autistic. I have mental health issues. I’m also stunning in purple.
In 2018 I was diagnosed as being autistic. For many years before that I had been dealing with anxiety and depression. After my autism diagnosis I spent time reading and reading and reading. I learned that I am disabled and that my anxiety is partly due to trying to exist in a world that disables me. Since my diagnosis I have been trying to unpack my life and rebuild it with a healthier understanding of who I am.
I could not have done any of this without other autistic people speaking out about their lives. I strongly feel that I need to be 100% open about what I am going through to pay something back for their courage. I hope that my efforts can help others.
